How It Works

Twitter Cards let you attach rich media to tweets that link to your content. By adding <meta> tags to your page's <head>, you control the title, description, image, and layout of the preview card shown when your URL is shared on Twitter/X.

Card Types
  • Summary: Small square image with title and description
  • Summary Large Image: Large banner image above the text
  • App: Direct download card for mobile apps
  • Player: Inline video or audio player embed
Required Tags
  • twitter:card — The card type to use
  • twitter:title — Title of your content
  • twitter:description — Summary text
  • twitter:image — URL to the preview image
Image Guidelines
  • Summary: minimum 144 x 144px, 1:1 ratio
  • Summary Large Image: minimum 300 x 157px, 2:1 ratio
  • Maximum file size: 5 MB
  • Supported formats: JPG, PNG, GIF, WEBP
Best Practices
  • Keep titles under 70 characters
  • Descriptions should be under 200 characters
  • Include twitter:site for attribution
  • Add image alt text for accessibility
